Ray is the Managing Director/Group CEO of ACUITY, which has subsidiaries involved in, Stock Broking, Fixed Income Securities, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital Financing & Asset Management. Prior to being appointed as Group CEO in 2009, Ray served as the CEO/MD of Acuity Stockbrokers (Pvt) Ltd, from 2001 to end 2008. In his last year as CEO/MD, Acuity Stockbrokers emerged as the No 1 stock broking firm in Sri Lanka. From 1998 to 2000, Ray functioned as the Managing Director of Forbes ABN Amro Securities. Ray has been associated with the capital markets of Sri Lanka for over 30 years, primarily as a stockbroker & since 2009 as an investment banker. He is the Chairman of Acuity Stockbrokers (Pvt) Ltd & Acuity Securities Ltd and serves on the Boards of Acuity Partners (Pvt) Ltd, Lanka Ventures PLC, LVL Energy Fund Ltd, Soft Logic Life Insurance PLC, Guardian Acuity Asset Management, and The Central Depository Systems (Pvt) Ltd. Ray currently holds the position of Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange. He is a past Chairman of the Colombo Stock Brokers Association.
Ray is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) & has an MBA from the University of Wales, UK.
Prashan is the Director / CEO at Acuity Stockbrokers. He counts over 21 years experience in the Stock Broking Industry in Sri Lanka. Prashan started his career with the Forbes & Walker Group in 1990. He joined Forbes & Walker Stockbrokers, and in 1998 was the Manager – Retail in the joint venture with ABN Amro Securities. Prashan joined DFCC Stockbrokers as Senior Vice President in 2001 and in 2003 was appointed to the Board of Directors. He initiated the first ever share buy back by one of Sri Lanka’s largest conglomerates following the provisions of the new Company’s Act. He was instrumental in numerous takeovers and sales of strategic stakes. Prashan provides investment advice to many of the high net worth individuals and leading local corporate entities and global funds active in Sri Lanka.
Prashan has an MBA from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
Thimal Perera is the deputy CEO of DFCC Bank PLC and has more than two decades of experience in the financial services and banking sector, both locally and internationally.Perera was most recently the Deputy General Manager of Hatton National Bank where he guided the retail and SME banking sector. He has also worked previously with HSBC both locally and internationally, the Commercial Bank of Qatar and Barclays Bank PLC in the United Arab Emirates.
During his tenure at HSBC, he was the Regional Head of Cards and Digital Channels overlooking the Middle East and North Africa Region and was the Director of Retail Products and Business Banking for Barclays Bank Plc in the UAE.
While at HNB he also served as a board member of HNB Assurance PLC, HNB General Insurance Ltd and HNB Grameen Ltd. Thimal Perera is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
Mr. Ashok Goonesekere is the Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer of the DFCC Bank PLC.
He possess 33 years’ experience in the financial industry covering Financial Accounting, Taxation, Operations, Financial Management and managing people holding positions in the senior and corporate management of 02 leading local Commercial Banks.
He held positions as committee member in main management committees namely, Asset and Liability, Operations, IT steering and Investment. Participated in Board sub committees namely, Board Audit and Board Risk Management. Functioned as a Trustee in approved Provident Funds of two local Commercial Banks. Served as a Director in the Board of a property management company with total assets of LKR 10.4 billion.
K A L Thushari Ranaweera
Mrs K A L Thushari Ranaweera (LLM-Cambridge), Attorney-at-Law & Deputy General Manager (Legal) and Board Secretary of Hatton National Bank PLC counts over 27 years’ of experience in the field of banking & capital market operations and holds a Master of Law Degree from University of Cambridge, UK. She is the recipient of the Ladduwahetty Trust – Gold Medal for Excellence awarded by Sri Lanka Law College for the best student in 1991 having placed first in the order of merit in the Preliminary, Intermediate and Final examinations held in 1988, 1989 and 2000 at Sri Lanka Law Collage.
Prior to her appointment at HNB in late 2010, she held the position of Assistant Vice President – Legal at National Development Bank PLC (NDB Bank) and has served in the capacity of Assistant Company Secretary at NDB Bank during the period 2001 – 2010. Mrs Ranaweera has held the position of Company Secretary of subsidiary companies of NDB Bank during her tenure of service with the NDB Group.
Having joined HNB PLC in 2010 she held the company secretary post for Sithma Development Pvt Ltd and HNB Assurance PLC for a short period. Presently she oversees the Legal Operations, Legal Recoveries, Legal Advisory Work and Group Legal matters of HNB PLC apart from serving as the Secretary to the Board of Directors of Hatton National Bank PLC since 1st January 2012. She is also the Vice President of Sri Lanka Bank Company Secretaries Association and is a council member of Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka (APB).
She has extensive training on leadership and job specific areas from many recognized international institutions.
Sanjaya is the Deputy General Manager –Retail Banking at Hatton National Bank PLC and manages the areas of Personal Financial Services (Leasing, Pawning, Personal and Housing Loans), Credit Cards, Sales & Business Development, Digital Banking, Network Management, Deposit Mobilization, Marketing Communications, Customer Service, Club & Priority Banking, Inward Remittances & Exchange House Relationships and Bank Assurance. He has a B.Sc in Business & Finance from Mount Saint Mary’s University, USA. He also serves as a Director of HNB General Insurance Ltd.
He commenced his career with Ceylinco Securities & Financial Services and then joined HNB as a Management Trainee/Executive. Thereafter, he joined HSBC where he held different positions such as Vice President – Custody & Clearing, Head of Sales, Head of Branches including Premier Banking, Branch Manager – Kollupitiya Branch/Manager Premier Centre.
Sanjaya thereafter joined Standard Chartered Bank and held positions of Head of Retail Banking, General Manager –Premium Banking Branch Sales & Services and General Manager – Value Centre.
